On July 6, 1985, Matthew Thomas Overton was born. He plays long snapper for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He played collegiate football for Western Washington after graduating from Diablo Valley College before being selected as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2007.
As a member of the Indianapolis Colts, Overton also participated in the 2013 Pro Bowl. In 2009, Overton played for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League in between stints with the Seahawks.
He returned to the UFL in 2010, but this time as a member of the Omaha Nighthawks following his release from the Seahawks.
He was recognized as the best long-snapper in the UFL in 2010 after being included on the league’s top-10 players list. The Nighthawks provided Overton with protection during the 2011 campaign.
Overton joined the Indianapolis Colts on April 3, 2012. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2013 and was largely used as a long snapper. Overton and the Colts agreed to a four-year contract extension on March 3, 2015. The Colts released him on May 1st, 2017.What Team Is Matt Overton On?
Overton joined the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on October 4, 2022. Overton was added to the active roster on October 15, 2022.
He is now playing as a long snapper for the team as of 2022. He is recognised as one of the best players on the team.
