An offensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, Tyler Smith is a professional football player. He is 1.98 m tall and 151 kg in weight. He attended North Crowley High School, where he played high school football. He was named to the third team all-state and the first team all-district during his junior year.
He made his initial commitment to play collegiate football at Abilene Christian when still a three-star recruit fresh out of high school. In spite of receiving offers from Houston, Navy, and New Mexico, he decommitted and chose to play for the University of Tulsa’s Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team.
He took part in the final four games of the season while redshirting his true freshman year in 2019. He started all nine of his team’s games at left tackle during the season that COVID-19 ended, earning a spot on the American Athletic Conference’s first team in 2020. (AAC). As a redshirt sophomore who started each of the Golden Hurricane’s 12 games, he was selected for the second team All-AAC. After the season, he said, he would forfeit his remaining collegiate eligibility and declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. Dallas Cowboys took Smith with the 24th overall choice in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
