Jalen Tolbert plays wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He stands 1.85 m tall and weighs 91 kg. He played football, basketball, and baseball at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. With 37 receptions for 696 yards and nine touchdowns, he completed his senior year.
He was a two-star recruit who made an early commitment to play collegiate football at Jacksonville State before deciding to enroll at the University of South Alabama. He participated in collegiate football with the South Alabama Jaguars. After sustaining a knee injury during preseason training camp, he redshirted his true freshman year.
After being put into the starting lineup as a redshirt sophomore, his season ended with 27 receptions for 521 yards and six touchdowns. As a redshirt junior, he caught 64 passes for 1,085 yards, both school records, and eight touchdowns, earning him a berth on the Sun Belt Conference’s first team. With 82 receptions for 1,474 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 2021, he eclipsed his own school records.
This earned him a second first-team All-Sun Belt selection and the league’s offensive player of the year honor. He graduated with a degree in leisure studies in May 2021, and he is currently working for a second degree in interdisciplinary studies. Tolbert was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
