He attended Neville High School and played football for the school. He accrued 1,928 yards for all purposes as a senior, including 904 yards on the ground and 724 yards in the air, and scored 29 touchdowns.
He won awards for being the best offensive player in the state, Northeast Louisiana, and All-NELA Big School. His time at Texas Christian University was spent playing college football for the TCU Horned Frogs. He started in five of the 13 games he played as a true freshman.
