Dontario Tyron Drummond is an American football wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He amassed 3,474 total yards while attending Laurel High School. In his senior year of 2016, he finished fourth in the state with 1,568 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
He participated in football, basketball, and baseball and was a part of basketball and football teams that won state titles. After a great senior campaign, Drummond was selected to the Clarion-second Ledger’s team all-state squad.
He enrolled in East Mississippi Community College as a JUCO with the hopes of getting into a major university. In two seasons there, he recorded 95 receptions, 1,466 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
He was a prospect with a consensus rating of three stars on 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. Choosing Ole Miss over Arkansas, Kansas, Colorado State, and Arkansas State after his sophomore season.
He started nine of the 12 games he played wide receiver in as a junior in 2019, and he finished third on the team with 13 catches for 188 yards. In 2020, Drummond was promoted to the starting lineup, appearing in all 10 contests and making nine starts at wide receiver.
He had a 104.4 QB rating when targeted and recorded 25 catches for 417 yards and seven touchdowns.
With 1031 yards on 76 receptions, eight touchdowns, and a remarkable 136.3 passer rating when targeted in his second senior year, Drummond, who will be eligible for one more year in 2021 due to the pandemic, established himself as Matt Corral’s top target. Because of his performance, he was included to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
