Malik Jefferson, a former Texas linebacker is currently in his fifth season in the NFL and has been signed by the Dallas Cowboys.

Jefferson has played for a handful of NFL teams including; Cincinnati Bengals (2018), Cleveland Browns (2019), Los Angeles Chargers (2019–2020), Tennessee Titans (2020), and Indianapolis Colts (2021).

Jefferson announced his intention to enter the 2018 NFL Draft on December 31, 2017, via The Player’s Tribune statement. Instead of heeding the advice of the College Advisory Board and going back to school, Jefferson enlisted in the 2018 NFL Draft. 



He went to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and participated in most of the activities, but he choose to sit out the three-cone drill and the short shuttle.

Malik Jefferson was born and raised by Michael and Teresa Jefferson in Mesquite, Texas, and had his high school education at Poteet. Jefferson was an active young prospect, and he excelled in football, baseball, and track and field.

Jefferson played defensive back as a sophomore in 2012, and he had 105 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 4 blocked kicks. Jefferson was honored as the Sophomore of the Year in District 10–4A and was named to the first team of All-Area by the Dallas Morning News after he assisted Poteet in achieving a record of 11–3, including a district record of 5–2 and a spot in the UIL playoffs.
