In the National Football League, Dakoda Shepley plays offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys. He is 1.96 m tall and 144 kg in weight. While still a sophomore at Holy Names High School, he started playing football. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of British Columbia where he played college football for the UBC Thunderbirds.
In 2013, his first season, he did not participate. He helped the team win the Vanier Cup as a sophomore. He received the Canada West right tackle all-star honor for seniors. Shepley was taken by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft.
Before being released on August 31, 2018, he participated in training camp and three preseason contests with the Jets. He was chosen by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League with the fifth overall choice in the 2018 CFL Draft, despite having been signed by the New York Jets a week earlier. He inked a contract with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers in August of 2020. He was released by the 49ers in August 2021.
The Seattle Seahawks picked him up off waivers in September 2021. During the regular season, he participated in 8 games while blocking for the extra point team. He was released by the Seahawks as part of the team’s final roster reductions on August 31, 2022. He was added to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on September 1, 2022.
