Tarell Basham is an American football defensive end who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Basham was born on March 18, 1994.
Between 2013 and 2016, he participated in collegiate football in Ohio. In the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Indianapolis Colts to join their team.
Basham received his high school education at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, Virginia, where he finished his career with 82 tackles and 16 sacks.
After graduating from high school, Basham spent a year at a military academy before making his decision to enrol at Ohio University.
As a senior at Ohio University, Basham set a new record with 11.5 sacks, which he later went on to break, earning him the title of Defensive Player of the Year in the Mid-American Conference.

Virginia was known as Hargrave Military Academy for one year before joining the Ohio University football team. The Indianapolis Colts selected Basham in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft,
making him the 80th player selected overall. During the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which the Baltimore Ravens won 16-10, Basham made a pick off of a ball that was thrown by Devlin Hodges.
This was the first interception of Basham’s career in the National Football League. Basham signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys on March 22, 2021, which was for a duration of two years. On September 17, 2022, he was transferred to the injured reserve list.
