Saquon Barkley was one of the most rated players in the 2018 draft class. The RB was predicted in some mock drafts to go as high as the second overall pick by late February 2018, the highest selection for a running back since Reggie Bush in 2006.
From a family of athletes, Barkley started his career at Whitehall High School in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania. Barkley was a stand-out athlete who competed in more than one sport. He lettered in basketball and track and field at Whitehall.
In football, Barkley ran for 1,856 yards and 31 touchdowns, for a total of 3,646 yards and 63 scores during his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Barkley also won gold medals in the 100-meter dash (11.15 seconds) and in the long jump (22’2.5″ or 6.77m) at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference meet.
At the PIAA District 11 meet, he also finished in second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.90 seconds, which set a record for Whitehall High School.

Saquon Barkley attended the Pennsylvania State University and played for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2015 to 2017.
Barkley became a starter right away in 2015 as a true freshman at Penn State. In his second game against Buffalo, he carried for 115 yards and a touchdown after just gaining one yard on one carry in his debut.
