A professional defensive end with the National Football League’s New York Giants the name of Jihad Ward. At 1.96 m tall and 130 kg, he is both tall and heavy. His sophomore year was when he started playing football at Edward W. Bok Technical High School. In 2010 and 2011, he was named to the first team of the city’s honorable mention.
In order to raise his grades, he spent two years after high school at Globe Institute of Technology. He participated in 7 games in 2013 and recorded 26 tackles, including 3 for losses and 2 sacks. He switched schools in 2014 and joined the University of Illinois’ Fighting Illini football team, where he played collegiate football.
He started every game as a senior, playing defensive end as well as defensive tackle. Over the course of the previous two seasons, he totaled 104 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 passes defensed. The Oakland Raiders selected Ward with the 44th overall choice in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was traded by the Raiders to the Dallas Cowboys in April 2018.
In September of last year, he was added to the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts. In October of this year, the Baltimore Ravens acquired Ward. After signing agreements with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March 2021, he did so with the New York Giants in March 2022.
