Sterling Shepard is an American football wide receiver for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oklahoma. Shepard was drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Shepard was a true freshman at the University of Oklahoma in 2012 when he participated in all 13 games, started four of them, and had 45 receptions for 621 yards and three touchdowns. When talking about his time in college, he said that he had a great collegiate experience.
On his first game at the collegiate level, which took place on September 8 versus Florida A&M, he recorded three receptions for a total of 48 receiving yards.
In the game that followed, which was against Kansas State, he had seven receptions, 108 receiving yards, and his first receiving touchdown since beginning his collegiate career.
In 2013, he was a sophomore and started 12 of the 13 games that the team played. He finished the season with 51 receptions for 603 yards and seven touchdowns.
He had the best game of his collegiate career up to that time on September 14 versus Tulsa. He had eight receptions for 123 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
