Matthew “Matt” Peart is an offensive tackle for the New York Giants of the National Football League who was born in Jamaica. He is 2.01 m tall and 144 kg in weight. He was an offensive and defensive lineman for the Governor’s Academy football team as a student there, when he helped the Governors win four consecutive Independent School League championships.

He chose to play collegiate football at the University of Connecticut and was a two-star recruit when he graduated from high school. He participated in the UConn Huskies football program at the University of Connecticut. At UConn, he redshirted his true freshman year.

He began each of UConn’s 12 games while taking a redshirt, much like he did during his redshirt junior season. He was chosen for the American Athletic Conference’s first team in his final season. During the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Peart with the 99th overall pick. In his sixth week of employment, he entered the NFL. His previous playing experience was in college.

He tore his ACL in the Week 16 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, and was put on injured reserve in December of that year. He participated in 15 games during the full season. He was listed as a PUP or reserve player in August 2022 to start the season.
