Zyon Gilbert is a professional football player who plays as cornerback with the New York Giants football team in the National Football League. He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 83 kg. He attended and played high school football at Jefferson Davis High School where he earned All-State honors twice and was named All-Metro and earned best two-way player, best defensive back, and the speed award at school’s season-ending banquet.
Coming out of high school, he was a three star recruit and chose to attend Florida Atlantic University. As a freshman in 2017, he tallied four tackles, including three solo in a game versus Navy. He played in 14 games and had a career-high 52 tackles (30 solo). He recorded 51 tackles and two pass interceptions in his 12 games as a sophomore in 2018.
He played in 13 games in 2019, recording 44 tackles. He took part in 9 games in 2020, recording 46 tackles, 1 interception, and 5 passes defended, earning him honorable mention for the Conference USA team. He participated in 12 games in 2021, recording 51 tackles and 10 passes defended.
He played in 60 games in five seasons of collegiate football, totaling 244 tackles, five interceptions, 26 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one sack. He had decided to pursue a communications major. He committed to the New York Giants in May 2022 on a rookie free agency contract.
