According to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the New York Giants have added rookie wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton to their practice squad.
The undrafted wide receiver out of Central Michigan who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 172 pounds was a dynamic performer in college, hauling in 62 passes for 960 yards and four touchdowns (to which he added two rushing touchdowns).
In 2021, he had 16 punt returns for 304 yards (19.0 yards per return), scoring two touchdowns and establishing himself as a major threat with the ball in his possession as a punt returner.
Pimpleton was one of the standout characters from the most recent Hard Knocks season, which featured the Detroit Lions.
But Pimpleton’s hand-eye coordination became apparent on the field when he was playing for the college team, with catches such as this one.
Pimpleton utilized his speed, agility, acceleration, and vision as a runner, slot receiver, and returner for the Central Michigan offense. He also played a variety of roles in the offense for Central Michigan.
The Detroit Lions were the team that initially signed Pimpleton, but they ended up releasing him after the preseason for unknown reasons.
How Much Does Kalil Pimpleton Make?
Kalil Pimpleton makes an annual salary of $207,000. He is signed to a year contract with the New York Giants.
