After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Kalil Pimpleton was given a chance to prove himself by signing with the Detroit Lions. He signed with the New York Giants as a free agent after spending five months with the Lions.
Kalil Pimpleton started his football career at Muskegon High School. He was a wide receiver for the school team and was recognized as the Offensive Player of the Year by the Muskegon Chronicle in 2015 and the Football Player of the Year by the Muskegon Chronicle in 2016.
Pimpleton was one of the five individuals considered for the position of Michigan High School Football Player of the Year by MLive.com. In 2016, he contributed to Muskegon’s success, which included a record of 12-2 and a trip to the state championship game.
Following his graduation from high school, Pimpleton enrolled at Central Michigan University, where he was a member of the Central Michigan Chippewas athletic team.
As a wide receiver and punt returner, he was selected to the All-MAC first team. During his senior year, Pimpleton was a starter for 14 games and was selected to be a team captain.
Additionally, he had 82 receptions for 894 yards and six touchdowns, which put him in first place in the MAC for both total receptions and receiving yards. In the annals of the program’s history, Pimpleton is rated sixth all-time for catches in a single season.
