Reed Blankenship plays safety for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 92 kg. He participated in football while attending West Limestone High School. He was selected for the all-state, all-region, all-county, and all-area football teams in 2016, and he was awarded Player of the Year for his performance.
He finished his career with 46 total touchdowns, 3,192 rushing yards, 1,004 receiving yards, and 1,056 passing yards. He served as the team’s captain for two seasons. After graduating from high school, he had scholarship offers from several institutions, but he chose to enroll at Middle Tennessee State University, where he played collegiate football for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Blankenship was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. He made three fumble recoveries, which were third in the country, and ranked eighth nationally in solo tackles per game. In week five against the Arizona Cardinals, he made his NFL debut and contributed two tackles to a 20-17 victory.
