Jake Elliott plays placekicking professionally for the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles. He is 1.75 meters tall and 76 kg. He played football when a student at Lyons Township High School, where the Chicago Tribune named him to the First Team All-State before his junior year. He was chosen Second-team kicker for Kohl’s All America List as a senior after making 15 of 21 field goal tries.
Both the University of North Dakota and the University of Memphis offered him a full scholarship after his senior year of high school, but he choose to play for the Memphis Tigers there instead. Following summer practice, he was picked as the freshman team’s primary kicker. He was the Tigers’ top scorer following his rookie season with 72 points.
Additionally breaking Stephen Gostkowsk’s previous high of 53 yards, his 56-yard field goal against USF established a new Memphis record. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Elliott 153rd overall in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in September 2017 after being released by the Bengals.
He beat the Eagles franchise mark for the highest field goal percentage in a single season (90.9%) by making all of his extra point attempts in 2021.
