The Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League’s Jake Elliott is a professional placekicker. He is 1.75 m tall and weighs 76 kg. Prior to beginning his junior year of high school, he participated in football and was selected to the Chicago Tribune’s First Team All-State.
As a senior, he made 15 of his 21 field goal tries, receiving second-team kicker recognition on Kohl’s All-America List. After his senior year of high school, he was offered full scholarships to the Universities of North Dakota and Memphis; but, he chose to play for the Memphis Tigers there.
He was chosen as the freshman team’s starting kicker following summer practice. With 72 points after his first season, he was the Tigers’ leading scorer. His 56-yard field goal against USF also set a Memphis record, surpassing Stephen Gostkowsk’s previous mark of 53 yards. In the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Elliott 153rd overall.
After being released by the Bengals, he was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in September 2017. By successfully converting all of his extra point attempts in 2021, he broke the Eagles franchise record for the best field goal percentage in a single season (90.9%).
