Professional footballer Jordan Mailata is the offensive tackle for the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles right now. He stands 2.03 meters tall and weighs 166 kilograms. He was a Condell Park High School student. He played rugby league professionally, and after watching videos of him doing so, NFL management urged him to apply for their International Player Pathway Program.
He said that despite never having played American football, he didn’t know anything about it. He traveled to Florida’s IMG Academy in February 2018 to exercise under the direction of coach Aden Durde. In the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles picked Mailata with the 233rd overall pick.
With a $89,392 signing bonus, he agreed to a four-year, $2.5 million contract with the Eagles. Against the San Francisco 49ers in week 4 of the 2020 campaign, he made his debut for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was the Eagles’ offensive lineman who allowed the fewest sacks, only 7, during the whole 2020 season.
His 502 pass-pro snaps gave him a pass-pro snaps per sack score of 71.7, which put him in first place among offensive lineman for the Eagles. Mailata was selected as the starting left tackle for the next NFL season by Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni in August 2021. A four-year, $64 million deal with the Eagles was inked by Mailata in September 2021.
