He was a member of the football squad at Fairfield High School. He participated in college football with the Michigan State Spartans at Michigan State University.
He was chosen for ESPN’s Freshman All-America Team as a freshman. He missed the first eight games of his sophomore season because of a torn meniscus. He recorded three tackles and four pass breakups during the game, earning the title of defensive MVP of the 2018 Redbox Bowl.
His junior year saw him make all thirteen starts, and with 32 passes intercepted, he finished his career tied for the 12th-most in MSU history. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Scott with the 137th overall choice in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
