For the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, Josiah Scott plays cornerback professionally. At 1.75 m tall and 84 kg, he is also quite tall. He participated in the football squad at Fairfield High School while he was a student there. At Michigan State University, he participated in collegiate football for the Spartans.
He made the ESPN Freshman All-America Team as a freshman. The first eight games of his sophomore season were missed due to a ruptured meniscus. After recording four pass breakups in addition to three tackles, he was voted the defensive MVP of the 2018 Redbox Bowl.
His career total of 32 pass interceptions places him in a tie for 12th place in MSU history. In the thirteen games he started during his junior year, he was a starter. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Scott in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft (137th overall). A. J. Bouye, a cornerback, was previously traded by the Jaguars to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the pick used to draft Scott.
He was inactive for three days after the Jaguars placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list in July 2020. In May 2021, he was exchanged for Jameson Houston and a sixth-round pick in 2023, going to the Philadelphia Eagles. He was put on injured reserve on September 2, 2021, and on October 2, 2021, he was activated.
