In the National Football League, Darius Slay competes as a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles. He stands 1.83 m tall and weighs 86 kg. He played both running back and defensive back at Brunswick High School. In the 2008 season, he ran for more over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns, intercepted six passes, and returned two of them for scores.
He rushed for 1,127 yards on 142 attempts and scored 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. After high school, he played collegiate football at Itawamba Community College. He received First-team Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 honors for his 41 tackles as a freshman.
After his stint at ICC, he transferred to Mississippi State University, where he played football for the Bulldogs in 2011 and 2012.
