The Eagles rounded up their defensive line early in the sixth round by selecting Coastal Carolina defensive end Tarron Jackson with pick 191.
This selection came just two slots after they had secured Marlon Tuipulotu from the University of Southern California.
Jackson, who is now 24 years old, completed his stint at Coastal Carolina University as the school’s all-time leader in sacks. Jackson finished his collegiate career with a total of 26 1/2 sacks, 44 1/2 tackles for loss, and 6 forced fumbles in addition to his other impressive statistics.
He has 18 and a half sacks and 27 tackles for loss over the course of the previous two seasons. In 2019, he was named to the First Team All-Sun Belt Conference, and in 2020, he was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year for the Sun Belt Conference.
Jackson claimed that despite not being highly recruited out of high school, he felt at home at Coastal Carolina, a school that switched from the FCS to the FBS early in Jackson’s undergraduate tenure.
Jackson, who stands 6-2 and weighs 254 pounds, has a stocky body and has the potential to serve the Birds as a rotational defensive end piece.
How Much Does Tarron Jackson Make?
Tarron Jackson earns an annual salary of $207,000.
