Franklin “Mac” McCain III is a cornerback with the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles. He was an undrafted free-agency football player from North Carolina A&T who was signed by the Broncos in 2021.
In Greensboro, North Carolina, on February 6, 1998, Mac McCain was born. He graduated from James B. Dudley High School after making 96 tackles during his final two seasons there and being named to the all-area honorable mention team.
After being passed over in the 2021 NFL Draft, McCain was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos. On August 29, he was cut, and he was later added to the practice squad.
On September 7, 2021, he was added to the roster after the Philadelphia Eagles acquired him. In week three’s 21-41 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, he participated in 13 special teams snaps, marking his NFL debut. On November 9th, he was released.
McCain was claimed off waivers by the Eagles on November 24, 2021. His release took place on December 8. He was rehired by the practice squad on December 13.
He and the Eagles reached an agreement on a reserve/future contract on January 18, 2022. On August 30, 2022, McCain was cut by the Eagles and re-signed to the practice squad.
