In professional football, Tom plays center for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. Being 130 kg, his height is 1.93. At Catholic High School, where he studied, he played offensive guard in high school football. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi from 2013 to 2016, where he played NCAA football for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles program.
He started nine games as a freshman after making his season debut against Texas State in the opening contest of the year. He debuted against Boise State. He started at center in all 12 of the contests he took part in as a sophomore and in each of the 14 contests he played as a junior.
Tom signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints in May 2017 as an undrafted free agent. He played the Atlanta Falcons for the first time in the NFL in Week 3 of the 2018 season. Following the season, his membership on the team’s practice squad came to an end in January 2021. In February 2021, he signed a reserve/futures contract with the Miami Dolphins.
He was elevated to the active roster in November 2021. He was cut and re-signed to the practice squad on December 4, 2021. He was elevated to the active roster on December 24, 2021. Tom signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles in July 2022, was cut on August 30, and was then added to the practice squad the next day.
