Born on November 1, 1999, Dyami Brown is an American football wide receiver for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders (NFL).
He attended North Carolina and had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020 before being drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by Washington.
Brown attended West Mecklenburg High School while he was a child growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina. Brown had 999 receiving yards, 14 touchdown receptions, and five defensive interceptions as a junior.
The best wide receiver prospect in his state and a four-star recruit, Brown chose to play college football for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in his senior year. He had 41 receptions for 631 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five rushing scores.
As a rookie, Brown hauled in 17 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown. He tied the school record with 12 touchdowns on 51 catches for 1,034 yards as a sophomore and led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 20.3 yards per reception.
In a defeat against the Virginia Cavaliers, he caught six receptions for 202 yards and three touchdowns, earning him the title of ACC Receiver of the Week. Following a six-reception, 150 yard performance against NC State, he was once more awarded receiver of the week.
When Jahan Dotson suffered a hip injury in week 5 of his second season with Washington, Brown got the start in his first game.
In the Titans’ 17-21 loss, he caught 2 catches for 105 yards and 2 scores. A 75-yard reception down the field for a touchdown was his first score in the NFL. Brown was selected by the Washington Football Team in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed his four-year rookie contract on May 13, 2021.
