Kamren Curl is an American football strong safety for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football at Arkansas and was drafted by Washington in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Curl was born on March 31, 1999.
On March 31, 1999, Curl was born in San Diego, California. He eventually relocated to Muskogee, Oklahoma, with his family, where he went to Muskogee High School.
Curl was a three-star prospect who chose Arkansas over offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, and Texas Tech.
He made 12 starts at cornerback as a true freshman there before switching to safety for his sophomore campaign, recording 53 tackles and five pass breakups in 11 games. Curl had 76 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks as a junior.
Curl was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round (216th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. On July 22, 2020, he agreed to a four-year rookie contract. Curl replaced Landon Collins as the starting strong safety after Collins’ season-ending injury in Week 8.
