American football linebacker De’Jon Harris is now a member of the National Football League’s Washington Commanders.
Harris was born on November 1, 1997. He played football while attending college in Arkansas. Throughout his college career, Harris has played in all 47 of Arkansas’ games and recorded 371 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.
The New England Patriots made the decision to take a chance on Harris and sign him as an undrafted free agent on April 26, 2020.
The final roster cuts occurred on September 5, 2020, and he was let go at that time. Harris was added to the Green Bay Packers roster on September 9, 2020, and later joined their practice squad.
He was promoted to the active roster for the team’s games against the Atlanta Falcons and the Chicago Bears in weeks 4 and 12, respectively, on October 5 and November 28, however,
he was returned to the practice squad after each of those games. Harris signed a contract with the Packers on January 25, 2021, and was added to the team’s reserve/future roster.
On August 31, 2021, the Packers announced their final roster, which included Harris as one of the players eliminated.
Harris entered into a deal on October 19, 2021, to join the Washington Football Team’s practice squad. In Week 15 of the 2018 campaign,
he made his team’s debut against the Philadelphia Eagles after being signed to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement player.
Harris was released from the Commanders’ roster on August 31, 2022, and the next day he was re-signed to the practice squad.
