Football quarterback Taylor Heinicke competes professionally with the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. Having a height of 1.85 m, he weighs 95 kg. He graduated from Collins Hill High School, where as a junior he was chosen as an all-state player after leading Collins Hill to a 10-4 record and a trip to the Class AAAAA semifinals.
His senior year saw him get the Georgia Old Spice National Player of the Year honor, which is given to 50 varsity football players from high schools. He signed up for Old Dominion University (ODU) in 2011 on an athletic scholarship, and from 2011 to 2014, he played football for the Old Dominion Monarchs.
His 2013 season statistics placed him among the top 10 FBS quarterbacks in terms of passing yards, passing yards per game, and touchdown passes. Heinicke was a non-participant in the 2015 NFL Draft and was subsequently signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent.
