Danny Johnson plays cornerback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League professionally. He is 1.75 meters tall and 82 kilograms. He went to East Feliciano High School and competed for Southern University’s Southern Jaguars football team throughout his collegiate career. He was the first player from his school to be invited to the Senior Bowl in 20 years when he was invited in 2018.
He took part in the 2018 NFL Combine as well. Johnson didn’t get picked in the 2018 NFL Draft and agreed to a deal with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent. In the Redskins’ season-opening victory of 24-6, he made his NFL debut.
He was put on the physically unable to perform list to begin the 2019 season while recovering from his injury after being placed on injured reserve on December 19, 2018. On December 10, 2019, he was made active. Until December 24, 2019, when he was placed on injured reserve, he made two starts. He re-signed with the team on March 23, 2021, but was then released and later re-signed to the practice squad in August of that same year.
In October 2021, he became a member of the roster. In March 2022, he agreed to rejoin the Commanders. On August 30, 2022, he was released, and the next day, the practice squad signed him. On October 25, 2022, he received a promotion to the active roster once more.
