Running back Joshua Dobbie “J. D.” McKissic plays in the National Football League for the Washington Commanders. He is 88 kilograms and 1.78 meters tall. He went to Central High School, where he played football in high school. He decided to play collegiate football with the Arkansas State Red Wolves at Arkansas State University after graduating from high school.
He produced 103 receptions and 1,022 yards receiving as a red-shirt freshman in 2012, earning him the title of Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and a spot on the Scripps Freshman All-American team. At the conclusion of his college career, he had 289 receptions for 2,838 yards and 11 touchdowns. McKissic signed with the Atlanta Falcons following his non-draft status in the 2016 NFL Draft.
His release from waivers was accepted by the Seattle Seahawks in December 2016. He was taken in September 2019 by the Detroit Lions off waivers. In addition to starting three of the 16 games he participated in that season, he also had a total of 38 carries for 205 rushing yards and 34 receptions for 233 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
In March 2020, McKissic and the Washington Commanders Football Team reached an agreement on a two-year contract. He was placed on injured reserve as a result of a concussion.
