Efe Obada is widely recognized as one of the most prominent figures in the National Football League (NFL). He was the first player to come directly from a football league in Europe to play in the National Football League.
Obad has come a long way before getting to this level in his life. Although Obada was born in Nigeria, he and his family eventually relocated to the Netherlands. Both he and his sister were trafficked into England when they were 10 years old, and as soon as they arrived in London, they were abandoned on the streets.
They started out sleeping in an office building and then moved on to live in ten different foster homes. In the end, he started working at Grace Foods in Welwyn Garden City as a security guard.
That didn’t stop him. He worked his way up and was signed by the London Warriors of the BAFA National Leagues in 2014. He participated in all five games, primarily on defense but also as a tight end.
In his almost nine-year football career, Obada has played for the London Warriors, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, and currently the Washington Commanders.
