Veteran tight end, Logan Thomas is currently in his ninth season in the National Football League. The Lynchburg, Virginia, native was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft and signed a four-year rookie contract with the team. Since then, he has demonstrated excellence and tenacity in competitive sports.
Thomas has also played for the Miami Dolphins (2015), New York Giants (2016), Detroit Lions (2016), Buffalo Bills (2016–2018), and currently the Washington Commanders.
Thomas started his career at Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Virginia before going pro in the NFL. He was a utility player on the high school team, playing as a quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, and defensive back.
He completed 118 of 204 passes for 1,535 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior while also having 842 rushing yards and 11 quarterback scores. He recorded 80 tackles and four interceptions for the defense unit.
Thomas did not only play football. He was a multi-sport athlete, who was a member of the school track team. He finished the 110-meter hurdles in 14.95 seconds, the 300-meter hurdles in 41.03 seconds, the high jump at 1.96 meters, and the discus throw (48 m).
At the 2009 Seminole District Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he was victorious in the long jump competition.
Thomas was rated as a 4-star recruit by many sports agencies. As a sought-after player, he had many offers from great institutions, but he chose Virginia Tech instead.
He enrolled at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2009 and played for the Virginia Tech Hokies for five seasons.
Thomas redshirted in 2009 and then spent 2010 as Tyrod Taylor’s backup, starting seven games.
