In the National Football League, Casey Toohill plays for the Washington Commanders. He is 1.96 m tall and 115 kg in weight. He played football when he was in Cathedral Catholic High School. He had three stars when he graduated high school and was a recruit. Despite receiving offers from several other universities, he picked Stanford University.
He participated in Stanford Cardinal football team practices. He earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors as a fifth-year senior at Stanford with 60 stops, 11.5 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. He recorded 124 tackles, 14 sacks, and an interception towards the end of the game.
At the 2020 NFL Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.62 seconds. In the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Toohill with the 233rd overall pick. He was cut go by the Eagles in October 2020. In the same month, the Washington Commanders football team claimed him off waivers.
In Week 6 of the 2021 season, he recorded his first career sack, and in Week 11’s contest against the Carolina Panthers, he earned his first professional start. In December 2021, he was forced to sit out Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys after being placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. He was reactivated a week later.
