Casey Toohill is a defensive end for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. He is 1.96 m tall and weighs 115 kg. While a student at Cathedral Catholic High School, he participated in football. Right out of high school, he was a three-star recruit. Numerous offers were turned down in lieu of his enrollment at Stanford University.
During his time as a student at Stanford, he played football for the Cardinal team. He started every game as a fifth-year senior at Stanford and racked up 60 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and second-team All-Pac-12 recognition. He recorded 124 tackles, 14 sacks, and a pick in his college career.
In 4.62 seconds at the 2020 NFL Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash. In the seventh round, 233rd overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Toohill. The Eagles released him in October 2020. The Washington Commanders football team claimed him off waivers the following month. In Week 6 of the 2021 season, he recorded his first career sack.
In Week 11’s game against the Carolina Panthers, he made his first professional start. He was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list in December 2021, missing the Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys, but he was resurrected a week later.
