An offensive tackle for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders, Alex Akingbulu is a professional football player. He is 1.96 meters tall and 136 kilograms. He went to and played football for Narbonne High School, where ESPN rated him as a three-star prospect and the No. 59 recruit in the state of California upon graduation.
He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he spent his freshman and sophomore seasons, after graduating from high school. In 2016 as a freshman, he did not participate in any games, and he missed all of 2017 while recovering from an injury. He was a member of the Fall 2016, Winter 2017, and Summer 2018 Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Rolls.
He started on the offensive line against Hawai’i, Utah State, and San Diego State as a junior in 2019, his first season as a Bulldog. He participated in seven games as a junior. He was selected for the 2019 Fall Academic All-MW team and was an important contributor to field goal coverage.
As a senior in 2020, he participated in two games, including one against Nevada where he started at left tackle. He assisted in defending the No. 5 passing offense and No. 17 total offense in the NCAA and was chosen for the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team. He was hired following the 2022 NFL Draft.
