As an offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, Alex Akingbulu is a professional football player. He is 1.96 meters tall and 136 kilograms. He went to Narbonne High School and played football there. According to ESPN, he was the No. 59 recruit in the state of California and a three-star prospect.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles, where he played his freshman and sophomore years. As a rookie in 2016, he did not take part in any games, and he missed all of 2017 while recovering from an injury. He was acknowledged on the Academic Honor Roll for the Athletic Director for the semesters of Fall 2016 and Winter 2017.
He played in seven games as a rookie for the Bulldogs in 2019 as a junior, and against Hawai’i, Utah State, and San Diego State he started at offensive tackle. He was selected for the 2019 Fall Academic All-MW team and contributed significantly to field goal coverage. He played in two games as a senior in 2020, starting at left tackle against Nevada in one of those games.
He was selected to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team and assisted in defending the No. 5 passing offense and No. 17 total offense in the NCAA. As an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Washington Commanders football team.
