Alex Akingbulu plays football professionally and is an offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. He weighs 136 kg and is 1.96 meters tall. After graduating from Narbonne High School, where he attended and played football, ESPN ranked him as the No. 59 recruit in the state of California and a three-star prospect.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he spent his freshman and sophomore seasons. He didn’t play in any games as a freshman in 2016 and missed the entire 2017 season as a result of an injury. He was a member of the academic honor rolls for the athletic directors in the fall of 2016, winter of 2017, and summer of 2018.
In his debut season with the Bulldogs as a junior in 2019, he participated in seven games and started on the offensive line against Hawai’i, Utah State, and San Diego State. He was chosen to the 2019 Fall Academic All-MW selection and was a key contributor to field goal coverage. He participated in two games as a senior in 2020 and started at left tackle against Nevada.
He was chosen to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team and assisted in defending the No. 5 passing offense and No. 17 total offense in the NCAA. After the 2022 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders football team signed him as an undrafted free agent.
