Corn Elder is a professional cornerback with the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. He is 84 kilograms and 1.78 meters tall. He played football when a student at Ensworth High School. He ran for 2,618 yards and 39 touchdowns as a senior, leading the club to its third straight Division II-AA state championship.
Coming out of high school, he was considered a four-star prospect and the two-time Mr. Football Player of the Year in Tennessee. He was a student at the University of Miami and a Miami Hurricanes football player. He participated in 10 games as a true freshman in 2013, made seven tackles, and gained 164 yards on seven kickoff returns.
He was one of Miami’s top defensive playmakers as a senior, making all 13 of his starts. He was a member of the second team All-ACC for the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association as well as the first team All-ACC for the ACC coaches. In the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Elder was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 152nd overall choice.
Upon the completion of the roster cuts in August 2019, he was let go. Since September of this year, he has been a member of the New York Giants’ practice squad. He joined the Detroit Lions in April 2021, but was let go in August. The Washington Commanders dismissed Elder on August 30, 2022, and the next day he was added to the practice squad.
