For the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, Corn Elder is a professional cornerback. He is 1.78 m tall and 84 kg in weight. He played football for the Ensworth High School team while there. He led the squad to its third straight Division II-AA state championship as a senior while rushing for 2,618 yards and 39 touchdowns.
Coming out of high school, he was classified as a four-star prospect and twice Tennessee’s Mr. Football Player of the Year. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes while he was a student at the University of Miami. He participated in 10 games in 2013 as a true freshman, making 7 tackles and accumulating 164 yards on 7 kickoff returns.
As a senior, he made all 13 starts and excelled as one of Miami’s top defensive playmakers. Both the ACC coaches’ first team and the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association’s second team All-ACC both included him. Elder was taken by the Carolina Panthers with the 152nd overall pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In August 2019 after the final roster cuts, he was fired.
He joined the practice squad of the New York Giants in September of this year. In April 2021, he signed up with the Detroit Lions, but he was dismissed in August. Elder was released by the Washington Commanders on August 30, 2022, and was then put in the practice squad the following day.
