Alex Erickson plays wide receiver and is an expert in kickoff returns for the National Football League’s Washington Commanders. He is also fairly tall, standing 1.83 m tall and weighing 88 kg. His former school, Darlington High School, was where he also played football. He had 3,856 yards and 57 rushing touchdowns when he graduated from high school, as well as 3,648 yards and 37 receiving touchdowns.
He also had 170 tackles and 14 interceptions. In his senior year, he was chosen to play in the WFCA All-Star game and received the Wisconsin State Journal Small School Player of the Year award. He was selected to the conference and state first teams as a defensive back and quarterback after racking up 2,489 total offensive yards.
He played for the Wisconsin Badgers in NCAA football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He graduated from Wisconsin in December 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management. Erickson signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. His first game with 100+ receiving yards came in October of this year.
Before the 2019 season came to a conclusion, he had 43 receptions for 529 receiving yards. He joined the Houston Texans in March 2021. He was released in August 2021 and later signed with the Carolina Panthers in September 2021. Erickson and the Washington Commanders agreed to a contract on May 4, 2022. He was freed on August 30th, 2022, and joined the practice squad the next day.
