On March 11, 1998, DaMarcus Fields was born in Taylor, Texas. He participated in basketball, track, and two varsity football seasons while attending Taylor High School.

He was one of three Texas Tech players invited to the NFL Combine. He was the first person in his family to earn a college degree.
After the 2022 NFL Draft, Fields signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. He was released on August 30 but later re-signed to the practice squad. Fields was promoted to the active roster for the Saints’ week three game against the Carolina Panthers, where he made his NFL debut, before being returned to the practice squad.
