The Washington Commanders of the National Football League have offensive guard Wes Martin on their roster. He is 143 kg in weight and 1.91 m tall. The Southwestern Buckeye League Offensive Lineman of the Year and first team All-Ohio selections were made while he was a student at Milton-Union High School, where he played football.
He was a 3-star recruit who picked Indiana University over other offers from colleges. For the Indiana Hoosiers’ collegiate football team at Indiana, he played for five years. He took part in 50 games overall, started 43 of them, and was named honorable mention All-Big Ten in his redshirt junior and senior seasons.
The Washington Redskins selected Martin with the 131st overall pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In a 24-3 loss to the New York Giants in September 2019, he made his NFL debut, starting at right guard. He joined the New York Giants in September 2021, and in December of that same year, he was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list.
On the 10th of May 2022, he was waived after being reactivated in the previous month. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked him up off waivers the next day. On August 23, 2022, the Jaguars released him from their roster. On August 24, 2022, the Washington Commanders claimed him off waivers; however, he was later released and resigned to their practice squad on August 30.
