For the National Football League’s Washington Commanders, Wes Martin plays offensive guard. He is 143 kg and 1.91 m tall. He played football while attending Milton-Union High School, where he was recognized as offensive lineman of the year in the Southwestern Buckeye League and first team All-Ohio. He chose Indiana University over offers from other schools as a 3-star prospect.
He spent five years at Indiana University as a collegiate football player for the Hoosiers. He played in 50 games overall, starting 43 of them, and was earned All-Big Ten honorable mention during his redshirt junior and senior years.
Martin was selected by the Washington Redskins with the 131st overall pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. At right guard in a 24-3 loss to the New York Giants, he made his NFL debut in September 2019. After joining the New York Giants in September 2021, he was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list in December 2021. On the 10th of May 2022, he was released after being revived in the previous month.
He was picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars off of waivers the next day. A week later, on August 23, 2022, the Jaguars released him. He was signed to the Washington Commanders’ practice squad on September 5, 2022, after being claimed off waivers by them on August 24, 2022, however he was then released on August 30, 2022.
