With the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, Jonathan Cooper plays outside linebacker. In addition to being 1.93 meters tall, he weights 117 kg. As a Lincoln High School student, he played football. The Ohio State Buckeyes were his football team while he was a student at Ohio State University. In 2016, as a true freshman, he participated in six contests.
A total of 15 tackles and three TFLs were recorded by him in his 14 games played in 2017. In 2018, he was named to the conference’s honorable mention team after starting 13 games, compiling 25 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and recording 6.5 TFLs. Additionally, he prevented an extra point try and recovered a fumble in the Tulane game.
He was only able to play in four games as a senior in 2019 due to an injury. He was the team captain, had six tackles, one for a loss, and started all four of his games. He participated in 45 games throughout the course of his college career, starting 25 of them. In addition, he finished his career with 75 tackles, 15 TFLs, 10 quarterback sacks, and two pass breakups.
The Denver Broncos selected Cooper with the 239th overall choice in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year rookie deal with the Broncos in June 2021.
