Jonas Griffith is an inside linebacker in American football. He plays for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020.
Griffith started his career at the Academy at Shawnee in Louisville, Kentucky. He was home-schooled until his senior year. In his one and only season of high school football, Griffith had six receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. Griffith was not only active in football, but he also played basketball and ran tracks
He enrolled at Indiana State University after high school and played four years of college football for the Indiana State Sycamore.
During his career, Griffith made 382 tackles (200 of them on his own), 28.5 tackles for loss, 14.0 sacks, three interceptions, nine passes defended, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He finished his time there with six All-American honors, which is tied for the most in the history of the program.
Griffith was traded to the Denver Broncos on August 31, 2021, along with a 2022 seventh-round pick, for a 2022 sixth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick.
