Kareem Jackson is a veteran safety who is currently in his 13th season in the NFL. He has a lot of experience and is one of the more seasoned players on the Broncos.
Jackson was originally drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round (20th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft, where he signed a five-year, $13.52 million contract. Since then, he has demonstrated both superior skill and relentlessness in highly competitive sports.
Jackson has spent most of his professional playing career with the Houston Texans, for whom he was a member of the team for nine seasons.
Before getting into the NFL, Jackson started his career at Westside High School. Jackson predominantly played running back as a senior, amassing 1,436 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns and nine receptions for 256 yards with two receiving touchdowns.
After graduating from high school, Jackson enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he played three seasons of college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Jackson played a significant role for the Crimson Tide as a rookie, starting 12 of 13 games. On the season, he had three interceptions and four pass breakups, good enough for second and fourth on the team, respectively.
During the course of the season, Jackson amassed 66 tackles, which placed him fifth overall on the team. As a result of his efforts, he was named to the Freshman All-American team.
