Brandon McManus entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Indianapolis in 2013. Since then, the placekicker for the Denver Broncos has shown both great skill and dogged determination in a very competitive sport.
McManus, who is a Super Bowl winner, started his football career at North Penn High School in Towamencin Township, Pennsylvania.
McManus was chosen to participate in the 2009 Big 33 All-Star Game. During his time in high school, he kicked a field goal 15 times out of 22 attempts, and seven of those attempts were longer than 40 yards.
After graduating, he attended Temple University, where he played four seasons of college football for the Temple Owls.
McManus now holds the career marks for most points scored (338), field goals made (60), field goals attempted (83), and punting average at Temple University (45.3).
After leading the team in scoring as a senior in 2012 with 74 points on 14-of-17 field goals and 32-of-33 extra points, he was named to the first team of All-Big East. He had a long kick of 68 yards, 17 of his punts were downed within the opponent’s 20-yard line, and he had an average of 45.1 yards per punt.
Following his senior season at Temple University, McManus was named the nation’s best overall kicker by the College Football Performance Awards and was awarded the Specialist Trophy in 2012.
