During the Patriots’ final roster cuts on August 31, 2019, he was released.
Saubert became a member of the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad on September 1 of this year. From the Raiders’ practice squad, he was acquired by the Chicago Bears in November 2019. He had two receptions for a total of 21 yards in the 2019 campaign. In September 2020, he joined the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Saubert pledged his allegiance to the Denver Broncos in May 2021.
He was added to the active roster as the third tight end on the depth chart. He recorded one reception for seven yards during the New York Giants game in Week 1. He caught his first career touchdown pass in the win over the Chargers in week twelve. In May 2022, the Broncos re-signed him.
