The 29-year-old Justin Simmons plays professional football as a free safety for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). While a student at Martin County High School, he participated in football.
For the Boston College Eagles team, he participated in college football. He participated in each of the Eagles’ 12 games as a rookie in 2012. He started one game as a cornerback while playing free safety for six games.
With 52 total tackles, he was sixth on the team, and his two forced fumbles tied for the team lead. He participated in all 13 games as a sophomore in 2013 and finished with 34 tackles, 22 solo tackles, and three pass breakups.
He was a junior in 2014 when he participated in 13 games, starting all of them. He started the first seven at free safety and the last six at right cornerback.
He played free safety in all 12 of his games as a senior, and he finished third on the team in tackles with 67. The Denver Broncos selected Simmons with the 98th overall pick in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
His first NFL game, which the Broncos played against the Carolina Panthers, was the team’s season opener.
In March 2021, he reached an agreement on a $41 million, four-year deal with the group. On September 14, 2022, he was placed on injured reserve due to a quad injury he sustained in Week 1 of the 2022 season. He was activated in October.
